E-learning User Study: Corporate Segment

This year’s surveys included over 600 respondents, Elearning! Magazine Group, which includes Elearning! and Government Elearning! Magazines, produces these annual studies to provide deeper insight into the application of e-learning. This year’s surveys included over 600 respondents, including 145 from the public sectors. Not surprising, all of the respondents reported that they had active enterprise learning initiatives underway. However, the big surprise came from the corporate sector - a 240% increase in enterprise-wide e-learning expenditures: $3.5 million versus $1.458 million in 2011. This anomaly showed up even though the total learning budget in the corporate sector remained relatively flat at $4.75 million versus $4.9 million in 2011. Further validating that trend, 86% of our corporate readership audience reported that they have an active e-learning initiative underway, with global, social, and mobile initiatives vying for a share of the enterprise-wide learning budget.
